International Festival Booth Registration Form

Registration for International Festival participation is currently closed. The Participant Registration Form for the 42nd International Festival will open in July 2017.

Thank you for your interest in participating in UNC Charlotte’s 42nd annual International Festival!  The Festival will take place on Saturday, October 14 from 10:00AM – 6:00PM.

Registration Deadline: Friday, September 8 at 5:00PM

This registration form should be used only by groups requesting booths (tents and/or tables) at the International Festival for one of the following purposes:

  • Cultural Display
  • Cultural Items Sales
  • Prepackaged Food Sales
  • Prepared Food Sales

If you wish to submit a request to participate in a cultural performance at the International Festival, such as a Dance Presentation or the Parade of Nations, you must complete the International Festival Performance Registration Form.

Please note that this registration form is a request to participate in the International Festival. All requests for participation must be reviewed and approved by International Festival staff. Submission of the registration form does not guarantee space in the International Festival.

You will receive confirmation from the Office of International Programs when a decision is reached on your request, as well additional information and instructions for approved participants.


Booth Types

Cultural groups participate in the UNC Charlotte International Festival in a variety of ways. Your group can request ONLY ONE TYPE OF BOOTH. Booth types and descriptions are listed below. Carefully review the information below and select the booth type for which you would like to register.

Booths are available in two sizes: four (4) table booths and eight (8) table booths. Four-table booths will share a tent with another four-table booth. Eight table booths will occupy a tent of their own. After you select your booth type, you will be asked to select your preferred booth size.

All booths must include a cultural display and group members staffing the booth must wear culturally appropriate and traditional clothing.

UNC Charlotte Student Groups receive a 50% discount to all booth fees!

Note: UNC Charlotte student clubs/organizations are NOT eligible to apply SGA funding toward the cost of hosting a table since the SGA funding is restricted to students only. Hence, a country table sponsored by SGA funding is restricted to only providing food items to UNC Charlotte students. The International Festival is a program for all UNC Charlotte and Charlotte community members, not only for students. Cultural Display

Allowed to Sell: Nothing, these booths are for display and education purposes only
Booth Fee: Free of charge
Notes
: Cultural Display booths include four (4) tables, with no option for eight (8) tables. The limit on Cultural Display booth size is intended to maximize the number and diversity of cultural and ethnic groups participating in the International Festival. If you sign up for a Cultural Display booth, however, you will be given the opportunity to place yourself on a waitlist of groups that believe they have a compelling need for an eight (8) table booth. 

Prepackaged Food Sales

Allowed to Sell: Prepackaged Food (must be in packaging, and must not require any preparation or heating/cooling for storage)
Booth Fee: 4-table Booth: $250 | 8-table Booth: $375 | 50% off for Student Groups
Notes: Prepackaged Food Sales booths are available for groups who will sell ONLY prepackaged food items such as cookies, candies, bottle water, soda. Items must be low-cost (under $3/item), must be in packaging, and must not require any preparation or heating/cooling for storage.

Cultural Items Sales

Allowed to Sell: Cultural Items and Prepackaged Food
Booth Fee: 4-table Booth: $400 | 8-table Booth: $600 | 50% off for Student Groups
Notes: Cultural Items Sales booths are available for groups who will be selling items such as art, crafts, and other cultural objects. Groups may also sell prepackaged food items such as cookies, candies, bottle water, soda, but such items must be low-cost (under $3/item), must be in packaging, and must not require any preparation or heating/cooling for storage.

Prepared Food Sales

Allowed to Sell: Prepared Food and Prepackaged Food and Cultural Items
Booth Fee: 4-table Booth: $500 | 8-table Booth: $750 | 50% off for Student Groups
Notes: Prepared Food Sales booths are available for groups to sell ethnic/cultural/national food that is fresh or requires preparation, cooking, or temperature controlled storage. Prepared Food Sales booths may also sell prepackaged food items and cultural items. A mandatory Health and Safety Training Session will be required for all groups with a Prepared Food Sales booth.
